WOODEN HOUSES

Houses on a wooden structure and those made of stone are known as the oldest residential constructions. TIMBER FRAME constructions are very popular in America, Australia and Japan. In Europe, the champions of wooden constructions are the Scandinavian countries (90%), France, Germany, more recently Great Britain and Romania.

DESIGN OF WOODEN HOUSES

We offer optimized design services for TIMBER FRAME wooden houses.

DESIGN STAGES:

➜ The architectural project (DTAC) is received from the architect;
➜ It is analyzed whether the solution proposed by the architect is compatible with the optimal execution of a
houses on wooden structure.
Not all architectural projects can be executed efficiently from a structural point of view. In the situation of designing houses on a wooden structure, the architect must consult with structural engineers specialized in wooden constructions;
➜ Before starting the realization of the DDE project, the structural engineer will establish, together with the architect and the beneficiary, the final structural solution;
➜ Architectural plans can be imported into Pamir, a design program specialized in structural calculation for wooden constructions;
➜ The project is sent in the 3D version, both to the beneficiary and to the architect for approval;
➜ Viewing the 3D project is possible on a phone-tablet or through the free downloadable application Pamir Viewer

➜ After approval, the technological production drawings are sent to the factory;
➜ The engineer responsible for production analyzes together with the structural designer the correctness of the technological structural design. Only after the above stages are completed, the house on a wooden structure goes into production.

HOW TO DEBIT THE WOODEN MATERIAL.

The structural elements for houses on a wooden structure are cut according to the execution plans (dimensions, elevations, sections, cutting angles, etc.).

There are two ways of debiting:
➜ With high-precision CNC circular (error-free automatic cutting);
➜ With professional precision manual circulars (the user must be qualified, so as not to mistake the angles and cutting dimensions).

HOW WALLS ARE MADE

The walls of houses on a wooden structure must be made in the factory, on special tables for the manufacture of framing (sandwich) walls.

The work tables must be provided with systems for tightening the soles of the walls, after the uprights have been positioned according to the manufacturing drawing.

The tightening system (hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical) must be activated before fixing the lower - upper soles and uprights with screws or nails. In this way, a perfect fixation is achieved, the small imperfections of the wood (curves generated by drying) being canceled by the tightening system.

BUILD RESPONSIBLY WOOD FRAME HOMES

Guaranteed result:

➜ The structural wood is dry, treated, FSC certified, resistance class C24 (softwood timber);
➜ The resistance structure is calculated for earthquake, wind, snow, etc.;
➜ Wooden constructions are EN 14250 certified;
➜ The POSI JOIST wooden floor does not vibrate (equivalent to a 20 cm thick concrete slab).

TECHNOLOGY MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

The preconceived mentality of those people who assimilate the house on a wooden structure with a vacation house or with a temporary construction, which creaks, vibrates, is not soundproofed, etc., must be changed.

Engineered timber frame houses, manufactured industrially in a factory, are different from carpentry timber houses, manufactured on site.

Houses on a wooden structure designed and built according to current regulations are as durable and resistant as those on a concrete, masonry or metal structure.

A few tips to benefit from a properly executed timber frame house:

➜ turn to professionals when you want to build a house on a wooden structure;
➜ visit manufacturers' factories (those who build on site cannot be called builders, they improvise, they have no way to control quality);
➜ visit several wooden houses built by them;
➜ talk to beneficiaries who have lived in such a building for at least 10 years.

LACK OF INFORMATION FROM DOCUMENTED SOURCES IN THE CHOICE OF THE BUILDER COSTS

EXAMPLES OF USUAL MISTAKES:

➜ We work with inexperienced builders, carpenters, without the minimum equipment of technology, without workshops or specialized factories;
➜ We allocate insufficient time to the builder verification process (factory visit, history, etc.);
➜ We allow limited time to visit several houses built by them;
➜ We get information from the Internet, without checking the history of the builder, who presents a type of product on the website or social networks, and in reality it does not comply with the presentation;
➜ We neglect information related to the quality of the wood, it should be maximum 18% dry when putting it into operation;
➜ We omit important steps and do not call on structural engineers, specialized in designing wooden structures who collaborate with credible manufacturers in Romania (who own factories and technology for manufacturing houses on wooden structures);
➜ We don't know that real houses on a wooden structure are not made with a SAW ON THE SITE

3D DESIGN

The design of wooden structure constructions must be carried out in programs specialized in structural drawing and calculation.

CADRU designers and manufacturers use the 3D design program – PAMIR.

Advantages of using PAMIR software:

➜ controlled design;
➜ all structural elements are calculated according to the National Annexes and EUROCOD 5;
➜ exact list of material quantities;
➜ calculation breviary;
➜ heavy-duty construction and non-vibrating Posi Joist wood floor;
➜ viewing the interactive 3D project on the phone.
